DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF Store Keeper

The following will be the duties and responsibilities of Store Keeper:

  1. Receives stores, issues supply and equipment, and compiles records of supply transactions aboard ship:
  2. Verifies that supplies received are listed on requisitions and invoices.
  3. Stores supplies and equipment in storerooms.
  4. Issues supplies.
  5. Inventories supplies and equipment at the end of each voyage.
  6. Compiles reports of expenditures.
  7. Inspects items, as to quality and quantity, against freight documents.
  8. Opens, timestamps separates, and distributes incoming mail in a mail/stores room.
  9. Unpacks incoming goods and wraps and packs outgoing goods. Stocks materials according to a prescribed inventory system.
  10. May enter data and edit stock orders in a computerized inventory system, if available
