DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF Store Keeper
The
following will be the duties and responsibilities of Store Keeper:
- Receives stores, issues supply and
equipment, and compiles records of supply transactions aboard ship:
- Verifies that supplies received are listed on
requisitions and invoices.
- Stores supplies and equipment in storerooms.
- Issues supplies.
- Inventories supplies and equipment at the end of each
voyage.
- Compiles reports of expenditures.
- Inspects items, as to quality and quantity,
against freight documents.
- Opens, timestamps separates, and distributes
incoming mail in a mail/stores room.
- Unpacks incoming goods and wraps and packs
outgoing goods. Stocks materials according to a prescribed inventory
system.
- May enter data and edit stock orders in a
computerized inventory system, if available
