Cssd technician job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.      To get the general cleaning of CSSD and CSSD equipment done early in the morning when the department opens.

2.      To carry out sterilization as per the protocol and issue linen /equipment to the user department.

3.      Responsible for receiving the un-sterile sets (like dressing sets, drums from wards, OPD’s, casualty for sterilization (twice a day) Morning from 9.30 am to 10.00 am, and evening from 3.30 pm to 4.00 pm.

4.      To indent required dressing materials/instruments from store, maintain sufficient stock and proper record keeping.

5.      Washing, drying and packing of washed material for sterilization.

6.      Preparing the dressing material (gauze pieces, cotton pads cotton swabs, ortho rolls and dressing sets).

7.      Run the Bowie Dick test cycle. In case any equipment is nonfunctional inform OT Incharge immediately.

8.      To run Biological Indicator test weekly and maintaining the record of the same.

9.      Documentation and updating of all the registers and records in the department.

10.  To check all the equipments, water supply, air pressure and electricity supply in the department.

11.  Preparing the linen for surgery.

12.  To carry out cleaning, disinfection and fumigation process of the department.

13.  Cleaning of the Autoclaving machine.

14.  Routinely start the Machine and check water level of the boiler and fill water in case it is required.

15.  To ensure proper and effective implementation of the Hospital Infection Control Policy.

16.  To ensure effective participation in hospital training programs and committee meetings.

17.  Any other medical-related work as assigned by Medical Superintendent.
