OT Incharge Job description
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Taking full responsibility of department and being accountable for department’s activities and performance.
• OT list preparation at the stipulated time (scheduling of surgeries) and ensure adherence to surgery timings.
• Preparing OT before one hour of patient shifting.
• Preparing the OT checklist before any surgery in coordination with concerned Surgeon & Anaesthetist and maintains the same for future surgeries.
• Coordinating with quality team & implementation of departmental SOP’s.
• Daily & timely updating of all the registers.
• To ensure sterilization in OT.
• To ensure timely fumigation, sending culture (both pre and post fumigation), collection of reports & maintenance of all fumigation records.
• Functionality & Maintenance of equipments / instruments.
• Looking after the Instrument Trolley
• Packing of Instruments for surgeries
• Full responsibility of Capital items, condemnable items, disposable items
• Bio medical waste management
• Maintenance of the aseptic measures
• Billing as per the billing policy
• Timely dispatch of bills in coordination with Billing Department.
• Checking for accuracy of all the bills.
• Information Dissemination
• Information to the front office & the patient’s attendants about the surgery being conducted.
• Materials Management
• Daily opening & closing stock maintenance.
• Verification & Calculation of the items with reference to miscellaneous stock.
• Repair & complaint of faulty equipment.
• Coordination with Stores & Purchase for implants and other consumables required.
• Coordination with Pharmacy for daily replacement & special requirements.
• To ensure effective participation in hospital training program and committee meetings.
• To ensure effective implementation of patients’ rights and to follow patient privacy and patient dignity.
• Any other medical related work as assigned by Medical Superintendent.
