Nursing staff (Emergency) Job description



Duties & Responsibilities: 

➢ To assist doctors in casualty and rendering immediate care to emergency patient.
➢ To assist doctors in doing procedures.
➢ To assist doctors in rendering immediate care to patients.
➢ To administer drugs, I/V fluids and injection and watch for any complications/reactions.
➢ To assist in receiving and transporting patients within the different areas in the hospital (ambulance, diagnostics etc.).
➢ To give necessary instructions to patients and relatives.
➢ To educate patients / attendants regarding personnel hygiene, and sanitation. 
➢ To indent medical and non-medical items as and when necessary.
➢ To check drugs received from pharmacy as per doctor’s prescription.
➢ To take care of inventory and maintenance of equipments.
➢ Responsible for direct supervision and guidance to the members of the team.
➢ To establish and maintain good inter-personal relationship.
➢ To ensure effective communication with consultants.
➢ To update & maintain records (patient’s  file, inventory book, registers, etc)
➢ Responsible for entering patient’s clinical records, vitals, medication details and nursing notes in patients case sheet.
➢ Responsible to do an initial assessment of every patient who comesin Emergency in the defined format.
➢ Responsible for following and supervising bio medical waste segregation, collection, transportation, storage as per bio medical waste handling policy.
➢ Coordinating with Quality team & implementation of departmental SOP’s.
➢ To ensure proper and effective implementation of Hospital Infection Control Policy.
➢ To ensure effective participation in hospital training program and committee meetings.
➢ To ensure effective implementation of patients’ rights and to follow patient privacy and patient dignity.
➢ Any other task assigned by Medical and Nursing Superintendent.
